How I Keep My Skin Healthy at 32 (and Why I Look Younger Than I Did in My Early 20s — No Botox, No Filler)

This is something I get asked about all the time, so I wanted to finally put it all in one place.

I’m 32. I’ve never had Botox, filler, lasers, or anything med-spa related. Not because I’m anti-anyone else doing it (however the side effects and aging that injections can cause deters me )—but because my approach to skin has always been about working with my body, not overriding it.

And honestly? My skin looks better now than it did in my early 20s.

My strategy is simple. It’s not trendy, it’s not extreme, and it’s not about “anti-aging.” It’s about supporting the skin, the nervous system, and the body as a whole so aging happens slowly, softly, and naturally.

Here’s exactly what I do—and why it works.

1. Face Massage, Gua Sha & Lymphatic Drainage (This Is the Foundation)

If I had to pick one thing that’s made the biggest difference in the structure of my face, it’s this.

I do facial massage, gua sha, and lymphatic drainage consistently—and I do it in the studio with clients too. You can literally see instant results. Brighter skin, lifted features, more definition, less puffiness.

As we age, gravity pulls everything downward. But we can teach the tissues where to go—and where to stay.

Over time, stress, chronic tension, and posture issues cause stagnant lymph fluid to build up in the face, neck, jaw, chest, back, and scalp. That stagnation directly affects how we age and the structure of our face.

Think:

  • Smile lines

  • Undefined jawline

  • Crow’s feet

  • Elevens

  • Forehead lines

Instead of masking those signs, we’re getting to the root cause:

  • Releasing deep tension

  • Moving stuck lymph

  • Softening tight tissues

  • Supporting circulation

This is why my skin is glowing at 32 with no fine lines. Not because I froze anything—but because everything is moving and flowing the way it’s supposed to.

2. Red Light Therapy (10–15 Minutes, 3–5x a Week)

Red light therapy has been another huge piece.

I use it for about 10–15 minutes, 3–5 times per week. It supports:

  • Cellular energy (ATP production)

  • Collagen production

  • Skin repair and regeneration

  • Overall skin vitality

I think of it as energizing my cells, not forcing results. Consistency matters more than intensity here.

3. A Consistent, Intentional At-Home Skincare Routine

I practice what I preach.

I use a custom skincare routine that I built for myself, and I stick to it. No hopping around. No overdoing it. Just being intentional and consistent.

I use the brands I carry at the studio and what’s genuinely best for my skin. This was a game changer—for me and for my clients who get customized routines too.

Good skin isn’t about having a 10-step routine. It’s about using the right products for your skin and actually committing to them.

4. Sleep (Non-Negotiable)

Sleep is skincare. 

I aim for 7–9 hours a night. My bedtime is typically before 10pm, and I do my absolute best to stay away from screens at least 2 hours before bed to support melatonin production.

I’m also intentional with light:

  • No blue light first thing in the morning

  • Dim lights at night

  • Supporting my circadian rhythm

Your skin repairs itself when you sleep. If sleep is off, everything else struggles.

5. Movement (Listening to My Body)

I move my body every day—but I don’t force it.

Some days that looks like:

  • Walking

  • Strength training

  • Pilates

Other days, it looks like rest.

Movement supports lymph flow, circulation, stress regulation, and hormone balance—all of which directly affect how we age. I listen to my body and don’t push when it’s asking for softness.

6. Supplements & Preventative Health Care

Once a year, I see my integrative health practitioner.

She reviews standard labs—but instead of saying “everything looks normal,” she looks at my body preventatively and holistically.

For example:
Even if liver markers come back “normal,” she can see when stress is impacting my system and support it before it becomes a problem.

This approach is how I’ve put autoimmune and other health issues into remission—and why my body (and skin) are supported from the inside out.

7. A Non-Toxic Home (This Took Time)

This didn’t happen overnight.

Over the years, I’ve slowly transitioned our home to be as non-toxic as possible:

  • No toxic candles or synthetic scents

  • Non-toxic cleaning products

  • Fewer endocrine disruptors

This reduces the constant stress load on my body. Less stress internally = less inflammation externally = healthier skin.

8. Hydration & Diet (Progress Over Perfection)

I’m not perfect but I’m intentional.

I focus on:

  • Whole, real foods

  • High protein

  • Limiting sugar and alcohol (I drink maybe once every two months)

Hydration isn’t just chugging filtered water. It’s cellular hydration:

  • Electrolytes

  • Bone broth

  • Teas

  • Hydrating foods

Skin reflects what’s happening internally.

9. Somatic Work (The Piece People Don’t Talk About)

This one is huge.

I work with a somatic coach to:

  • Process emotions from childhood

  • Release emotions that have been stuck in my body for years

  • Build capacity to hold hard emotions now without storing them

Unprocessed emotions create chronic tension and stress in the body—and yes, that shows up on the face.

When you release stuck energy, the body softens. The face softens. The nervous system regulates.

Final Thoughts

Healthy, glowing skin isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing the right things consistently, gently, and with intention.
